Ionisis was founded by freelance developers who were sick of contracting for large IT Firms who had no other motivation than to make a dollar, even at the cost of client satisfaction. As freelancers, many developers come across bad firms who mislead or outright lie to the client to win their project, and who treat their developers poorly, and pay them much less than the average.
As a result of the actions and standards of these firms, developers were unhappy to do their work, and put little effort into the projects; and clients were upset with being sold over priced products with substandard quality. Most good developers are proud of their work, and have a reputation to maintain, and so this is unacceptable policy. Clients became upset and frustrated with the firms, and Developers became disheartened.
What many clients do not know about the larger IT Companies is that they are nothing but marketers and business men, with NO developers. To get the client to sign the contract, clients are told that the company has the best in-house designers or developers. The work is then contracted out to a freelancer who is usually in an under-developed country, because it is a cheaper labor expense, meaning more profit for the company. These companies pay their freelancers less than FIVE PERCENT of the project cost, which, even in their own currency, is less than minimum wage. As a result, the developer puts little effort into the project, which leaves the client unhappy. Because the client signed a contract, they usually have nowhere to turn for relief. Even if they cancel their project, most of the money is kept by the IT company, if not all of it. Some of the companies who are doing this have become fortune 500 IT companies --at the cost of their clients and their developers. I have personally seen numerous cases where a client would pay 2,000$usd for a simple website design/development, and the developer was paid 60$usd. I'm sure you can guess how satisfied the customer was with their website. This is often the norm.
This is unacceptable, and is the reason why the founding developers stopped working freelance. Ionisis was formed in order to give clients another option, an option that will bring them quality services at a fair price. Ionisis is not the biggest IT company, and it may never be; it is not the cheapest IT company, and it may never be; it is not the fastest IT company, and it will never try to be. Ionisis never outsources any work (come on, we are a company who is comprised solely of developers), and always does its research for each and every client's project. This is why Ionisis consistently delivers higher quality results on the average than our competition.
Most IT Firms have 2 faces: the marketers and 'business men' who see nothing but the dollar; and the developers who are bustling with creativity and eagerness to create new and valuable things. With many IT Firms, Clients are under appreciated, and developers are under valued and under paid. Ionisis is founded by developers, and is run by developers. Ionisis's primary concern is quality, then usefulness, then satisfaction, then price. This means that Ionisis will turn away work that it does not deem as honest, legitimate, positive, productive, good or fair quality, and useful; whereas most companies will not, so long as there is money to be made in it.
Ionisis believes so strongly in quality services and client satisfaction that we have compiled a set of information to assist clients when looking for a firm to fulfil their needs --even if it is not Ionisis-- because it is simply the right thing to do. Ionisis understands that clients usually do not have the technical background necessary to make informed decisions, so at the bottom of this page, click the next button to read information on how to make more informed decisions about what to look out for when searching for an IT firm to use.
Ionisis's primary objective is to launch a new generation of Information Management Systems, aimed at a better user experience. All of our standards and quality go into these systems, which is why they are not yet available to the public, even though they are being used right now on our company's own production websites (you're looking at our Website Content Management System (WCMS) front-end right this moment). Ionisis goes on to delve into other areas of expertise, such as web design, development, seo, and many other miscellaneous IT tasks.
